In the mid 1960's Frank and Eula Comeaux began working on their boudin recipe with the help of friends and family. At the time Frank was a Captain for the Lafayette Fire Department while Eula was a cafeteria cook at a local middle school. By 1967 the recipe was perfect and the first Comeauxs location was born, quickly becoming a local favorite. For the next 16 years they worked side by side until they retired in 1983.
Ray Comeaux, one of five Comeaux children, took over the boudin business in November of 1983. He grew it from a popular local business to a nationwide name. In 1999 Ray opened its 3rd location, a USDA kitchen in Breaux Bridge, LA. From there what was once a small grocery store turned into shipping boudin and other Cajun products all over the world.
Comeaux's is now a 3rd generation family business. Rays son Matthew took over in December of 2022. We pride ourselves in cooking the same recipes Frank and Eula started almost 60 years ago. Over the years Comeaux's has evolved from a grocery store to a federally inspected production plant making over 60 of our own products plus an entire line of private labeled products as well. Comeaux's products have been used in the white house, Emeril Lagasse's restaurants, and several nationally known magazines.
We will continue the same great recipes and truly appreciate your Business!
